Industrial energy audit
Do you need to carry out an energy audit that complies with the latest regulations for industry? Do you have ambitious decarbonization targets and want to draw up an operational action plan tailored to your business?
As specialists in energy audits for industrial sites, we analyze energy use throughout your production system to offer you solutions tailored to your product transformation needs.
Regulatory energy audits in industry
The purpose of a regulatory energy audit in industry is to take stock of your energy-intensive processes and utilities, in order to implement an energy-saving action plan.
This audit is mandatory every 4 years for companies with over 250 employees or sales in excess of 50 million euros.
The mandatory energy audit for industries includes :
-
Measurement of at least 3 Significant Energy Uses (SEUs), each representing 10% of the site's total consumption;
-
Verification or redefinition of the thermal balance between needs and production;
-
Identification of waste heat rejection temperatures;
-
Drawing up an energy-saving action plan;
-
Drawing up an action plan to promote the use of renewable energies.
EU-ETS sites are required to implement actions with a payback period of less than three years.
At the end of the audit, we issue you with a report compliant with standards NF 16 247-1 and 3 (Energy audit - Processes). We transmit your consumption data and the report to the DiagADEME platform.
LEMON ENERGY meets OPQIBI requirements for industrial process energy performance analysis (1717).
This qualification is essential for carrying out the audit in compliance with regulations. OPQIBI is an independent organization that regularly checks our services.
Data collection and energy efficiency measurement
Accurate measurement of your equipment's energy consumption and efficiency enables you to determine the potential for energy savings.
A mandatory industrial energy audit includes the measurement of 3 Significant Energy Uses (SEUs).
To carry out an industrial energy diagnostic, we first gather and harmonize your often disparate consumption data.
-
Clean-up: Eliminate errors, duplicates and inconsistencies
-
Transformation: Conversion of date formats and standardization of units
-
Consolidation: Aggregation of data from different sources to bring them together in a logical way.
We then provide you with a clear, usable file, which you can use to check (or have checked) the basis used for our calculations.
Advanced energy efficiency audit
In order to analyze your industrial processes in detail, an in-depth energy efficiency audit is essential. The aim? Identify your sources of energy consumption, your most energy-intensive equipment and your opportunities for optimization at every stage of the process.
The cost of an advanced industrial energy audit can be offset by the energy savings achieved. What's more, your audit is eligible for up to 50% ADEME funding.
Energy mapping for an exhaustive inventory
As specialists in production line energy audits, we carry out a complete mapping based on detailed measurements, to provide you with an exhaustive analysis.
At what stage of transformation?
Energy overview - Identify the most energy-intensive stages in your process. Optimize individual stations and discover energy synergies between stations.
Where on the site?
Location - Evaluate network costs and the feasibility of solutions.
When?
Modeling over time - Dimension solutions and validate their relevance.
We model the thermal requirements of processes over a representative period, taking into account influencing factors (production activity, weather conditions, equipment operating conditions).
Your processes at the heart of our analysis
Our methodology is based on 3 steps, which measure energy use throughout your industrial site:
Identify minimum energy requirements (transformation process needs)
Adjust energy carriers (piping, exchangers, pumps, etc.)
Match energy production to needs (chillers, air compressors, boilers, photovoltaics)
Energy efficiency, from audit to advice
A comprehensive energy efficiency action plan, based on an audit and advice, prioritizes the actions to be implemented, taking into account economic and environmental criteria.
The action plan of the mandatory industrial energy audit characterizes and prioritizes each action according to different criteria:
-
Emissions reduction (tCO2eq/year)
-
Energy savings (MWh/year)
-
Energy savings (€/year)
-
Investment costs (k€)
-
Identified subsidies (k€)
-
Payback time based on Net Present Value (NPV)
The action plan must include solutions for recovering waste heat and using renewable energies.
When based on an energy map, an energy audit of an industrial site gives rise to an adapted action plan, integrating specific measures linked to your processes. This level of detail facilitates the identification of eligible subsidies.
Our energy consulting engineers can help you identify the priority actions you need to take to improve your company's energy efficiency.

-
Categorization
We categorize actions according to their nature, ranging from simple maintenance adjustments to more complex reorganizations or targeted investments.
-
Priorization
We prioritize actions according to their impact on reducing energy consumption and their economic and technical feasibility.
-
Orchestration
We group together compatible actions to achieve your objectives, taking into account the savings achievable according to a defined CAPEX or payback time, as well as the expected evolution of your facilities and activity.
When you identify and validate an action scenario, we help you secure your investments with our energy performance study and monitoring.
Case studies
Full-cost low-carbon roadmap
We carried out an advanced audit for a major chemical site, resulting in a full-cost roadmap to support their investment strategy.
This roadmap provides for 5 GWh/year of energy savings and a 5-year payback period, thanks to the eligible grants we identified.
Detailed low-carbon roadmap
We carried out an advanced audit for a major dairy products plant, resulting in a roadmap forecasting 20 GWh / year of energy savings.
This audit report, 50% financed by ADEME, enabled the site to demonstrate to head office its ability to meet the ambitious targets set for them.
